Biography
Athens Megaron scholar soprano, dramatic coloratura Kelly Tousmanoff has appeared in many operatic concerts throughout Greece and Europe.
Born in Athens Greece, she has studied with tenor Ioannis Tokmakidis as well as the famous Greek baritone Kostas Paskalis in Apollonio Conservatory and graduated with honours and the institutions’ first prize. She has attended a masterclass with famous mezzo soprano Christa Ludwig. With the help of a scholarship from the late President of the Athens Megaron, Christos Lambrakis, she continued her studies in Milan with soprano Maria Luisa Cioni and Maestro Roberto Negri, repetiteur at La Scala.
She has collaborated with leading orchestras such as London Philharmonia Orchestra, the Novaya Opera Οrchestra and Chorus of Moscow, ERT National Symphony Orchestra, and, conductors like Vassilis Christopoulos, Richard Balcombe, Anderas Pylarinos, in venues like the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Athens Megaron Concert Hall, the Thessaloniki Megaron Concert Hall , the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens and elsewhere.
She has a wide operatic repertoire ranging from the Baroque and classical periods, to bel canto, romantic period and verismo .
Alongside her operatic career, she is also a professional vocal teacher, with extensive knowledge in voice technique. She has worked in well known Conservatories in Greece.
Apart from Greek, she is fluent in English, Italian and also gifted with flair for excellent pronunciation in any language she sings.
